Don't Hit the Panic Button Yet | Vs. Wisconsin

Recap:

When it got to the 4th quarter and Nebraska was only up 13-0, I told myself "Yep they're in prime position to lose." First of all, who only puts up 13 points against one of the worst defenses in the nation? Second, how do you let an offense you've kept in check through three quarters to suddenly get going? Then the touchdown happened and I told my friends "Yep we're gonna lose" Proceeded to take a couple pillows to the face, but I had that coming given the fact I need to remain loosely neutral.

The Big Red Throwdown:

So here is Nebraska. Back to a game under .500 at 2-3. Coming into a season where I slated them at 9-3, and well they've hit their 3 allowed losses...2 too soon. Additionally, Northwestern and Iowa are looking hella scary to play (especially Northwestern, I'm already preparing for the beatdown they'll hand us) and Iowa could be a bigger challenge than once thought. There is a silver lining along with a great joke one of my friends made: "It's ok, Riley gets wins against Top 5 teams." So watch out Michigan State, Nebraska is here to spoil (not to mention the Spartans not looking quite as sharp as once thought but we'll get to that later) But that still shouldn't excuse the fact that Nebraska is 2 wins behind schedule and is looking to possibly not making it to the bowl season. So at the moment I have Nebraska at 7-5, given that Northwestern is going to kick our butts now, but in trade Minnesota looks winnable.

But let's worry about this Saturday. Wisconsin comes to town. Yes, the same Wisconsin that has proceeded to rail Nebraska multiple times. But this Wisconsin looks weak...wait. We've said that the last two times we played Wisconsin? And we still got annihilated? Crap...

Nebraska O vs Wisconsin D: Edge Wisconsin. Apparently Wisconsin's D is supposed to be feared, and given the way Nebraska has played that could be bad. But apparently Nebraska is trying out yet another freshman running back so maybe he'll be awesome like Ozigbo! (Or Nebraska can decide to not run the ball, your choice)

Nebraska D vs Wisconsin O: Edge Nebraska. As bad as the pass defense has looked (for starters this is their first mention of them this post!) I have never believed in Stave (Wisconsin QB) and will refuse to do so. It has been reported that a knee injury has taken our Freedom, but the other starters are reported healthy. So technically Nebraska is starting the original starting four on D-line, but they're super thin at depth for the game.

Special Teams: Its ok Demornay, with all you did last year and the excuse that you were injured, we can forgive you fumbling your first touch of the season. Just don't do it again and rip Wisconsin open please.

I really want to say Wisconsin based on how Nebraska is playing, but I won't. I still got faith in the Big Red, I had this as an upset in the preseason, but this looks more doable than an upset. It will probably be a close, low scoring affair however.

Nebraska 20, Wisconsin 17
(Also how great is that photo? Like the video of it is amazing and I intend on watching it on loop at least 10 times before the game, but damn Kenny)

Nebraska Update: 83rd...woofreakinghoo.

What to Watch For:

I'm throwing out the Saints-Cowboys game because at the time of the posting it was supposed to be McCown starting, but since Brees started that definitely changed the outcome sooooooo....
Last Week: 5-3 Overall: 22-13

Northwestern @ Michigan - Northwestern 20, Michigan 13

This one could get interesting...but the Wildcats are hot and I still have little faith in Michigan, but that home field though...

California @ Utah - Utah 38, California 27

Only reason why Gameday is here is because there aren't very many fascinating games this week. Utah's defense should stifle California's hot offense while being able to scoring themselves

Meanwhile, In the NFL....

I'm also throwing out the Colts-Texans game due to the fact that I have a busy life and unfortunately was unable to post this on Thursday.

Sunday Night: 49ers @ Giants - Giants 31, 49ers 17

So. Bit of a fantasy update. I traded for Carlos Hyde in, what I viewed as, a great steal from my uncle (sorry if you're reading this! But it's looking like we both didn't really gain). Well, he scored only 2 points last week and he's not looking hot this week against an apparently stifiling Giants D. So, in already owning the Texans D, I was hoping that this would be the week that the Texans and 49ers would get their shit together and I could get away with starting both of them. Well, someone dropped the Giants D and Ronnie Hillman, so in need of a backup defense I picked up the Giants, and seeing value in Hillman (CJ Anderson owners take note) I picked him up as well, and now its reported that Hillman could be seeing a 50-50 split with Anderson. So instead of Hyde/Texans I'm starting Hillman/Giants, so I'm really hoping for another 49ers meltdown, at least until next week where Hyde could seek value after the Hillman hype dies down (If it dies down)

Monday Night: Steelers @ Chargers - Steelers 27, Chargers 21

The Steelers are making do without Rothlisberger (RIP my fantasy even though I'm making do at 4-0 somehow, holla) and should be able to get by San Diego with ease.
